Classic Americana
Sean and I watch the TV show "Friends" religiously. Over the course of a handful of months a few years ago I had purchased each season's DVD set. So... have ALL TEN SEASONS of Friends on DVD. When he and I are in our office we like to watch stuff on our mini-13" TV/DVD player and when we're out of movies or not in the mood to really be sucked into a story we put in Friends. We can quote almost all of it...mostly about ten seconds before the line occurs. And in our real life we'll quote episodes at appropriate times as well.
So...as Sean was viewing his Netflix queue he realized we could order television shows on Netflix. Hmm...you mean there are other shows to become addicted to? This really works because we cannot devote time to watch new shows...but we can go through a whole DVD while we're in the office anyway :-) The first show we started with was How I Met Your Mother. We're already fans of Neil Patrick Harris and sure enough we LOVE this show. But pretty early on it became clear to us that this is essentialy just a re-hasing of Friends. And so...a blog was born;-)
If push came to shove I...dare I say it?...WE...are TOTALLY Team Friends. In fact in an early "Mother" episode they kind of gave a dig at Friends by saying that hanging out at a bar is way better than a coffee shop...ouch...
